This chart compares U.S. software-development job postings with job postings across the entire economy. It uses Indeed Hiring Lab indices normalized to February 2020, so the lines show relative posting activity rather than job counts, employment levels, or vacancies across every hiring channel.
What does it show?
Software-development hiring demand remains substantially weaker than the overall job-posting market.
Methodology
Indeed Hiring Lab U.S. Job Postings Tracker. Total postings use the seasonally adjusted aggregate index (`indeed_job_postings_index_SA`); Software Development uses the sector file's published `indeed_job_postings_index`. Both are indexed to February 1, 2020 = 100. Daily source observations are sampled weekly for display.
