One H-1B Case Can Represent Many Jobs
Requested positions per certified H-1B labor-condition application, by occupation. One certified H-1B labor-condition application can represent many requested positions, making case counts a poor proxy for potential worker demand. It prevents administrative case counts from being mistaken for labor demand.
Data vintage: FY2026 through Q2 (DOL decisions through March 31, 2026). Point-in-time cross-section; refresh after each cumulative quarterly DOL disclosure.

Methodology
For each SOC occupation in the reviewed FY2026-Q2 DOL prototype, divide requested worker positions by cases whose final status is exactly Certified and visa class is H-1B. These are employer requests on administrative applications—not visas issued, workers admitted, or people hired.
